Modules in The First Descendant are one of the ways you can buff your character and your weapons. This allows you to further customize your build and make changes to your characters. Generic ones can be added to any character or weapon, depending on which one it affects, while unique ones are harder to obtain but can take your build to a new level.
Learning how to use every character in The First Descendant will take time, but being able to experiment and change how they play will make that time well spent. Having fun is the key aspect of any game, and tweaking a character until you are rolling through the game and having a blast is great for games like this looter-shooter because of its light-hearted nature. Modules help you make your character truly shine and become as overpowered as possible.

Getting & Installing Modules In The First Descendant
Acquisition Info
The main way players are going to be able to find Modules is by completing certain tasks that can be found under “Acquisition Info.” All you need to do is go to the world map and select the “Access Info” tab where you can then select the “Module” screen. From there, you can see what Modules exist and how to unlock them by pressing the “Acquisition Info” button. Notably, some Modules are unique to certain characters, and, while they will boost their abilities specifically, you may find the general ones work just as well for your playstyle.
Once you have them, you can then open the Inventory screen to view and install them. This is where you can start customizing your character and your weapons by picking and choosing various Modules to use. You can move between the Weapon Module and the Descendant Module to choose which layout to modify. You can then drag Modules from the bottom of the screen where your entire inventory is to the top part of the screen, which is where your slots are.
You can use the “Equip Recommended Module” option at the top right of the screen to optimize your Modules based on your available options. This will automatically fill your slots with good setups and get you close to your mod capacity if you are unsure which ones to equip.
Capacity-wise, you can only have a certain number of Modules equipped. Every Module has a slightly different amount of capacity that it will take up, and you will not be able to equip new ones if your capacity is full. You can always unequip and slot in a new one if you have run out of room but found something better. This capacity is independently calculated for your Descendant and your weapons, meaning the number of Modules equipped on one will not affect the other.
To increase your capacity, you can go to the research center and speak with Anais. Go down to the “Enhancement Material” tab and look for Energy Activators. These are what will allow you to increase your Module capacity and allow you to equip more and better versions of them. This is because as you upgrade them, you will find that they will take up a larger amount of your capacity the higher the level they are. However, the higher the level, the more they will help you do things, such as beat The First Descendant's most difficult bosses.
Dismantling & Enhancing Modules In The First Descendant
Pros & Cons
If you find yourself running out of room or think that you might never use a certain Module, or perhaps you find a Module that does the same thing better, you can choose to dismantle your Modules in The First Descendant. This can be done with Silion, where you can select several different options. If you choose to dismantle a Module, you will be given Kupier Shards for it, which can then be used to upgrade, or Enhance, your current Modules and make them more powerful.
You will be given an amount of Kupier Shards based on the level, or rarity, of the Module being dismantled, starting at around 300 Kupier Shards for a standard-level Module. You can also combine Modules with Silion to try to create this one, but there is no guarantee that this will help your cause, as the Module created might even be weaker than the ones you sacrificed. It is quite a random process.
To Enhance your Module, speak to Silion again but pick this option instead. From there, you will be able to view your Modules and look at what will happen if you Enhance it. Many have their effects boosted, making it quite a bit more effective, although as stated before, it will also increase its capacity cost. This will always cost a combination of Kupier Shards and Gold, so pick the ones you want to Enhance first wisely. Most Modules can be Enhanced through Level 10, but this is not always the case.

Recommended Modules In The First Descendant
Prioritize The Basics
As explained in MagGamerInc’s video on YouTube, there are a wide range of Modules in The First Descendant and a lot of possibilities to have fun with them. However, it is also wise to stick to the basics and make sure that your character survives before adding the fun Modules in. For instance, his main recommendations are:
- Increased HP
- Increased DEF
- MP Accelerant
- Shock Punch
- Nimble Fingers
While a few of these can be swapped out, he recommends leaving the Increased HP and the Increased DEF on at all times, as it keeps you alive and ensures that you do not miss out on your rewards. Doing so allows you to focus on survival first, while being able to experiment and have fun with the rest once those two are in place.
After that, you can tweak your remaining slots to build something like the best Bunny build in The First Descendant. However, it is all done to preference in some cases and finding the most fun Modules you can try and experiment with.
